Happy Birthday Mom

I wrote this poem yesterday, January 7th, 2007. I was at a restaurant eating lunch and studying for a test. I was taking a break and thinking about my Mom since it would have been her 64th birthday. I was sad and wanted a piece of chocolate cake, but instead of eating I wrote this little poem.

Happy Birthday Mom-by Melissa Black

You would have been 64 today
I really miss you in a BIG way

Instead of planning a party or buying you something neat
I'm studying for a test and having a bite to eat.

An ordinary day this may seem to everyone else,
but to me it's a day of missing you and that's heartfelt

So happy birthday to the lady I miss most and love
Have a great party today with the Angels above.
